Identify

Recall & PPSR launchers

Paste a VIN or plate to pre-fill official government tools. Fake paid PPSR clones charge more for the same $2 AFSA search — we send you to ppsr.gov.au.

Theory

Three different government questions

PPSR answers finance, stolen, and write-off. The Vehicle Recalls site answers open safety campaigns for road vehicles and approved components. I-CAR answers a shop question the government sites do not: after glass, bumper, alignment or a battery, which ADAS systems on this model typically need calibration. None of those three is a roadworthy certificate — that is a state inspection product.

How to use it

Role
Advisor or used-car desk (P02) before you quote a PPI or take a trade-in
Shop-day step
LEAD → VEHICLE → ESTIMATE
Do
Run official PPSR and recall, then book the correct state inspection if the car is being sold or re-registered.
Do not
Do not sell a PPSR certificate. Do not tell a customer a QLD safety certificate is a NSW blue slip.

Put this next to the job card

Public tools stay free. The shop OS is the board, DVI, estimate, and GST invoice that use the same vehicle.
