Our story
Started out of frustration, not a whiteboard session.
Marcus Webb spent ten years as a service manager across two multi-location groups in Western Sydney. By 2022, he was running three job management systems, two spreadsheets, and a whiteboard — and still losing track of deferred work, missed approvals, and jobs that fell through the cracks when techs handed over at shift change.
He tried every available product. Some were too expensive. Some were built for US tax law with AU adaptations tagged on. None handled the approval workflow properly — the moment a customer needed to approve a quote, every system fell back to a phone call.
Marcus left to build what he wished existed. He brought in Priya Sharma — who had spent five years building B2B SaaS infrastructure — to lead engineering. Together they agreed on one rule: nothing ships without a real workshop validating it first.
Workshop Wrench launched into closed beta in late 2024. The first design partner was a 5-bay general mechanical shop in Penrith. By the end of the first week, they had eliminated the whiteboard. By the end of the first month, their approval rate on quoted work had lifted from 68% to 84%.
“We only quote percentages when we have proof. Until then, we open the demo.”
