Pricing

Simple monthly plans. No hostage features on the daily board.

Per location, with included seats. Extra logins are a published add-on — not a sales call. Annual saves ~20%. Matrix is the live shop app, not a brochure dump.

Indicative AUD from USD list. GST exclusive — +10% at AU checkout. Conversion as-of 2026-08-16 — not a live FX quote.

What another roof costs

Published list. Growth sells a second site as an add-on. Scale includes five, then a lower extra-site rate. Starter stays one site.

Review each plan

Who each plan is for — and when to leave it

Growth is the independent default. Scale is the second roof or the 10-seat pack. Extra seats exist so you do not buy Scale just to add two advisors.

STARTER

One-bay independents who need the board, GST invoices, bookings, and tablet packs — not DVI media or two-way SMS yet.

Stay when. Three people (or a few extra $35 seats) on a single roof. Public book + email/print is enough.

Move when. You need inspection photos, SMS approval links, labour clock, or owner KPI reports → Growth.

GROWTH

The default independent. Advisor + techs running DVI, portal approve, payments entitlement, and My Day timers.

Stay when. One site, or a second site at USD $99/mo, and about 5–9 logins.

Move when. Three or more sites, 10+ logins, HQ roll-up / stock transfer, webhooks, or Xero dry-run → Scale.

SCALE

Multi-site groups or a busy single roof that is cheaper as a 15-seat pack than Growth + extras.

Stay when. Up to five sites and 15 seats. Extra seats $29; extra site $79 after the five included.

Move when. SSO/SAML, private GCP, or a custom SLA → Enterprise quote.

ENTERPRISE

Groups that need contract paper, SSO, and a named success path — not a self-serve card.

Stay when. Procurement requires a quote. Seats and locations are negotiated.

Vs competitors · as-of 2026-08-16

Published list vs the market

Indicative bands from our dated snapshot. Not a live quote. Re-check vendor sites. Confidence H = vendor page; M = consistent secondary.

Wrench Growth (USD $299, 5 seats, extra $35) sits between Shopmonkey Basic ($215–239 / 3 seats / +$20) and Clever ($359–399). AU incumbents (MechanicDesk $85–150, Workshop Software ~$99 annual, extras $15–20 AUD) undercut us in cash. We publish extra seats so a fourth login is not a surprise quote. We are not trying to win a price war against MechanicDesk.

Where we win the review

  • List prices and entitlements are on this page — no demo-gated mystery quote for Starter/Growth/Scale.
  • Job board, RO, customers, estimates, invoices, tablet packs, email/print, and book iframe stay on Starter. US vendors often lift DVI/SMS/inventory to mid-tier.
  • Shop customer invoices ≠ SaaS subscription. Competitors routinely blur those two Stripe stories.

Where they still beat us

  • AU cash: MechanicDesk / Workshop Software undercut us in AUD. Buyers who only want Xero + cheap seats will stay there.
  • Native Xero marketplace + EzyParts/Repco/Windcave logos are theirs. Ours stay dry-run / stub until partner evidence.
  • Shopmonkey-class every-plan two-way SMS and polished media DVI are not claimed here.

Full process compare: /compare. Shop-Ware pricing is demo-gated — omitted from this table on purpose.

What we refuse to gate

The job board, repair orders, customers, estimates, invoices, bookings, documents, and tablet desk stay on Starter. Growth unlocks DVI, payments entitlement, SMS pack, time clock, and KPIs. Scale adds multi-location, webhooks, and accounting export — published here, not a surprise on day 30.

Not included yet (honesty box)

  • AI phone receptionist. Partner/defer — not a first-party live product. We will not ship a fake AIR page.
  • Unlimited Connected SMS packaging. SMS uses adapters (mock or Twilio). Plan packs will be explicit at checkout — no silent overage theatre.
  • Native Xero marketplace listing. Xero is dry-run / gated live path. Books of record stay in Xero; we do not badge Connected without remote proof.
  • Google review automation suite. Roadmap (W5). Service reminders expand first; review campaigns are not claimed live.
  • One-click migration from every DMS. Import wizard staged. Parallel evaluation week recommended; accounting history stays in your ledger.

Payments, SMS & accounting — honest ship status

Plan cards list entitlements (what the product can turn on), not a fake Connected logo wall. See text-to-pay, SMS, and Integrations.

FAQ

Pricing questions shops actually ask

How do I try Workshop Wrench?
Request a live demo at /demo. We issue a signed access desk for the seeded garage. No card required.
How do I change plan later?
App → Settings → Manage subscription. SaaS billing portal is stub without Stripe keys; live Customer Portal when keys are configured. Separate from shop invoice pay links.
Are card payments and text-to-pay fully live?
Payment records on RO invoices are live. Hosted Stripe Checkout for shop invoices is stub without keys and live when configured. Portal/text-to-pay path is expanding — not marketed as full US-style packaging today.
Per user or per location?
Base fee includes sites: Starter 1, Growth 1, Scale 5. Extra site on Growth is USD $99/mo. Extra site on Scale (after the five included) is USD $79/mo. Starter does not sell extra sites — move to Growth or Scale. Enterprise is a quote.
When should we pick Growth vs Scale?
Stay on Growth for one roof (or a second roof at USD $99/mo) and under ~10 logins. Three or more sites is cheaper as Scale ($449 includes five). Scale also unlocks HQ roll-up, stock transfer, advanced RBAC, webhooks, and Xero dry-run.
Can we export our data?
Yes. OpenAPI is live. Accounting export toward Xero is dry-run (gated live path) on Scale+ — books of record stay in Xero/MYOB.
What about SMS costs?
SMS is mock by default; Twilio when provider keys are set. Plan quotas and packs will be shown at checkout — no silent overage surprises.
Why is Process Studio on Growth if the UI is roadmap?
The entitlement is published so packaging is transparent. Domain state machines and audit already enforce transitions; the authoring UI is explicitly roadmap — see Process Studio status.
Why USD $149 / $299 / $449 instead of matching MechanicDesk?
We publish USD list in the US mid-band because the product is a shop OS (board, line-level portal, GST invoices, tablet packs, book iframe) — not a cheap Xero-adjacent diary. AU incumbents undercut us in AUD; that is called out on this page. We will not win a price war against $85–150 seats.
What do competitors often gate that you keep on Starter?
Job board, repair orders, customers/vehicles, estimates, invoices, the six tablet packs, email/print, and the public book iframe stay on Starter. Growth unlocks DVI, payments entitlement, SMS pack (form links stop skipping), time clock, and KPIs.

Start with Growth. Downgrade or upgrade anytime.

Most independents land on Growth after comparing DVI, payments, and KPI needs.
