Flag hours vs clock hours, efficiency %, and trend — calculated automatically from labour timers on every repair order.
Honesty: Data pulls from labour timers. Accuracy depends on techs clocking in and out consistently. If techs don't use timers, efficiency numbers will be misleading.
The core metric
Flag hours are the hours you sold — the labour time on the repair order. Clock hours are the actual time a technician spent on the job, measured by their timer.
When clock hours exceed flag hours the job ran over — you sold 2 hours but it took 3. That gap is the margin you lost. Workshop Wrench captures both numbers on every RO so the comparison is automatic.
The formula
Efficiency % = (Flag hours ÷ Clock hours) × 100
A tech who flags 8 hours in 8 clock hours is at 100%. If they clock 10 hours to flag 8, that's 80% — you absorbed 2 hours of unbilled time. If they flag 9.6 hours in 8 clock hours, that's 120% — they beat the book time.

Each technician's My Day page shows their running efficiency for the current day alongside active RO timers. They can see in real-time if they're on track — not find out at month-end they were 72%.

Trend tracking
The weekly trend chart on the owner dashboard shows efficiency per technician over a rolling 8-week window. Spot seasonal dips, onboarding curves for new techs, and correlation between job mix and efficiency scores.
Chart data is live from labour timer records. Weeks with fewer than 10 flagged hours are shown with a low-sample indicator to avoid misleading percentages.
